Natasha called in the morning of February 22nd. She has been patiently and sometimes not so patiently waiting for her baby. Granted, he came a little late.  A happy, festive feeling was almost palpable as I walked into her family home. Natasha smiling brightly through out most of her birth work. She had moments when she thought she could give no more but then reached deep down within herself and found the strength to...

February Highlights

This is little Jasper just moments after he was born. He had a very gentle delivery. His mother practiced mindfulness meditation through out his birth. Happy Birthday Jasper. Welcome in a family that has been waiting for you with happy...

V-back News

Yeahhh for a V-back. Congratulations Shana. Not only did you give birth at home in under 4 hours start to finish. You were also told that your pelvis is to small to deliver your first baby vaginally and now you gave birth to a nearly 8 1/2 pound baby naturally at home. How wonderful! The sun was shining over your Presidio Apartment. Congratulations Malcolm and big sister Thalia. Happy Birthday little girl. Born 01/03/2013...

One mindfulness class for birth and parenting just concluded and some of the babies from that group have arrived. Lana and Steve were blessed with two arm fulls of babies. They had identical baby boys born July 31st at UCSF via C section as it is uncommon in this country to deliver twins vaginally if the first twin is presenting himself...

Lisa’s Story

I would like to announce the birth of our second child Ferdinand Francis on July 27th 2009. And again, it was an amazing, empowering, smooth, intense experience for me as a midwife, a woman and a mother. Angelika took care of me for the second time. And I am really happy and thankful for having her by my side again. And Ferdl, that’s how we call him, is a very mellow guy that fits perfect in our little family. I met...
